I’ve been there.
Picture this:
We had just moved into our new home. A month later, I gave birth to my second daughter. Five days postpartum, I was already back in the kitchen, hosting family visits – running on fumes and autopilot.
I thought that’s just what women do: we show up, we give, we keep going, even when we’re empty.
But deep down, there was this quiet fire in me. I wanted to build something that was mine – not from hustle, but from purpose.
I wanted to know what it felt like to create income that flowed because I was in my feminine, not in spite of it.

So I did what most of us are told to do – I got the job.
For almost two years, I worked in yacht logistics under one of the most inspiring women I’d ever met. When I got invited to represent the company at a major yacht show in Europe, I felt like I’d finally ‘made it.
I splurged on a red Luisa Spagnoli suit – $1,000 I didn’t plan to spend – telling myself it was an investment in the woman I was becoming.
Back then, I believed success meant power suits, working harder, proving myself..
That trip looked like success from the outside: multi-million-dollar meetings, luxury hotels, important clients.
But halfway through the journey, I felt that little ache in my heart that whispered, “Is this really it?”
At the yacht show, surrounded by executives, I should’ve felt proud. I’d worked for this moment. But the second my heels touched the deck, I felt completely out of place. In that moment, I realized I’d been chasing a version of success that pulled me away from everything that mattered – my femininity, my peace, my family.
I was hustling to prove that I could make my own money – but in doing so, I had disconnected from the woman I truly was.
